Sponsorship
One sponsor to a city.
Each edition carries a single sponsor, who bears the cost of putting the room on (the hotel, the faculty’s travel, and everything around it) and receives a defined consideration in return. What that consideration is, and what it deliberately excludes, is set out below.
What the sponsor receives
- Sole sponsorship of the city’s edition, acknowledged on the edition page and at the interval.
- Branding on the printed workbook at every seat.
- An allocation of seats for the sponsor’s own guests.
What the sponsor does not receive
- The delegate list. It is not circulated to anyone. That discretion is part of what the room offers its delegates, and therefore part of what the sponsorship buys.
- Speaking time in the teaching sessions. The acknowledgment is made at the interval.
The audience
The room holds twenty-four in-house counsel and general counsel who have paid for their seats and given up a working morning to be there. They spend that morning negotiating against each other rather than listening to anyone, which is a rarer thing to be associated with than a panel. Few gatherings in the city that quarter will be as senior, and fewer still will be as small.
